i dont think any upgrade packages would work as the xskey servers are down + non fucntional and xskey licenses can no longer be upgraded

thats pretty much why enabler is suggesting what he is suggesting.;)
another thing to point out is i guess there was never a pro version made for Windows so mac os 9 really caught a break to even get the 6.4 pro version at all!

And don't forget to assign more ram to Logic! 8)

I read somewhere that you can bypass the 1GB ram limitation by allocating more ram to Logic. Right click, get info and change it there. Is that what you're talking about?

I think there's a 1.5GB ram limitation of OS9, so if this will work I can buy another 512 stick and put it in my G4.

I don't have Logic running since I'm waiting on an XS Key. I'm curious how much ram is allocated to it in the first place...

Is that what it says in 'Get More info' when clicking on the application?

However when version 6.4 was released, I believe the dongle switched to white...

NO I bought Logic Pro 6 and it came with a blue dongle and has the exact same features as the white dongle that others have talked about. It upgraded to Logic 7 and to Logic 8 no problem.

I think the white key started with Logic Pro 7 - not sure though.

I think the white key started with Logic Pro 7 - not sure though.

usb xskey was switched from blue to white from any version that is called "logic pro" vs "logic platinum" (which began at v6.4)
white/pro contains all auths for all plugins, whereas blue/platinum could be upgraded but does not contain these auths by default
this info has been confirmed.

Am I missing something here?
Here are pictures of my version of Logic Pro 6 with the blue key.
The blue has had all the updates when I bought it - there was an update
however way back when Logic 7 came out I think but that was it.

It is not Logic Platinum 6, it is Logic Pro 6 as seen.
Maybe someone can tell me if I missed what was being said about all this.

A 6.4 DOES include all of the authorizations, Jakl is right. I just didn't know that they were blue when Apple came into the picture.

The more important question is, how did people 'upgrade' their USB keys? I thought that the USB keys were 'set in stone' and there was no changing licenses on it, just using the upgrade editions of the software.

Well if you see the photo - in the utilities folder on the right there is an
XS Key updater which was used to update the key when there was a need
to update.

Does changing a license with the key updater require a server to connect to?

I guess next on our list of stuff to crack is to create a server that our XS keys can connect to to register new licenses  ;D -afro-
