Which is your favourite mouse?

Which is your favourite mouse and why? How can you tell if a modern mouse is OS9 compatible?

I’ve got a lot of miles (and many years of use) out of the plain old Apple ADB II mice and they’ve held up surprisingly well. I like the clear & black USB Pro Mouse simply for aesthetics and the Apple A1152 for everyday use. (The ADB MicroSpeed trackball was used extensively pre-OS 9.) All my favorites… depending upon their individual use. Of course, DAW-fiends may have other preferences.

As for “modern mice” I assume that you might mean non-Apple varieties? (Sorry, no help there.)  ::)

Got to be my favorite mouse.

Oh, wait, that's not the kind of mouse you were asking about 8)

Same as FdB... I like the ADB Mouse II and USB Pro Mouse (which I also use on my Windows machine).
The lead on some of the Pro Mice is too short though.

I like the clear/black usb pro which works fine for me but on my DAW rig I mostly use a wireless thumb/trackball model.

Favorite Mouse - Schwartz
« Reply #6 on: January 26, 2019, 11:00:26 AM »

(Sound of labored breathing here
   …through a large black helmet.)

Occasionally have also been known to use this direct-connect interface
(utilizing brow movement for click-drag-select functions and eye movement
for tracking) in conjunction with a custom SCSI port cerebral implant interface.
I just think this all works better? (Only recently considering a USB upgrade.)

As for any possible Coca-Cola, Freud and/or Mighty Mouse relationships…
perhaps best examined later? (Noted penchant here for the Owsley eye drops.)

Okay, it was just a little quiet around here… mea culpa.
(I just knew that the schwartz was strong with BB.)

my favourite mouse isn't a mouse, but USB Overdrive with a(ny) 3 button/wheel specimen ;)
(me sticking to a classic Logitec oldie, probably for being used to it for ages)
Refusing that wheel thing just for the sake of 'being different' was a severe fault by Apple imho.
USB Overdrive always saves my day when audio edit is on schedule - makes it so fast and effortless.

I use the Apple ADB II mouse with a Griffin iMate. I have 3 such adapters. If I see them on a second hand site or a second hand store, I buy them because they become difficult to find. The Apple ADB II mouse is still the best. I prefer this over a laser mouse, because a laser mouse is like electrical scissors. You have more control with real scissors.

I quit using the ADB mouse.

Logitech M90 for my G4 (uses 100 mA).
Logitech M-UV 96, rebranded as Fujitsu-Siemens, for my XP laptop (uses 100 mA).
Microsoft Optical Mouse 200 for my W10 notebook (uses 98 mA).
The M90 is a faster mouse than the M-UV 96, OK for a large screen.
