I have this odd problem with the Launcher on all my 9 booting Macs.

Everytime I drop an item in the Launcher, instead of showing up as a button in the Launcher, it makes an alias in the control panel folder??

I've tried everything I can think of to fix this, deleted the entire Preferences folder, toggled the Launcher on/off, but this bug is killing me.

No items show up in my Launcher at all.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Don't use the Launcher myself, but sounds like the Launcher Items ƒ is corrupted in some way.

If you open Launcher Items ƒ, does it open ok, or do you get a bunch of Control Panels?

If you put aliases in the Launcher Items ƒ manually, do they appear in the Launcher and work as expected?

FWIW, I'm old enough to remember that it seemed as though the Launcher always was an unreliable piece of shit that most people just decided not to use. It was just as easy to alias docs or whatever you were working on and keep them in an "in progress" folder or such. That's still what I do today.
