3dfx Voodoo cards
« on: February 27, 2018, 02:39:17 PM »

Here is how to flash 3dfx Voodoo3 PC card ROM to Mac card ROM:
http://www.sterpin.net/uk/voodooukp.htm
But one thing that page doesn't say clearly that Voodoo cards doesn't support OpenGL, even original Mac cards.

Remember Voodoo 2 doesn't need flash, because it has to install with another videocard that boots.
And it shows picture only on 3dfx supported games.

Has anybody tested Voodoo 1 with Mac?

There are no drivers for Voodoo 1 for the Mac, that I know of.

Also, Voodoo cards do support OpenGL, but that is broken after 9.1. If you using 9.2.x, you need to copy OpenGL extensions from 9.1.

Also, you can extract the Voodoo4/5 Rom's from the Mac 3DFX control panel with Resedit.

http://falconfly.3dfx.pl/downloads/vs-mac-1.1.2.sea.bin

Incase someone wants to flash a PC card.

You can flash an AGP card, even tho there was no official Mac AGP Voodoo card, however the card will act as a 66mhz PCI card.
