Apple Configuration or 3rd Party Configuration?
« on: August 08, 2017, 07:57:04 PM »

It seems I have stumbled upon an oddity that I bought off Craigslist. It's a Blue & White G3, it's specs being almost the same as the original 300Mhz configuration. However, the differences is where things get interesting. It seems to be a Rev B system, with the updated board and even a ATI Rage 128 with the option of the DVD encoder (however, it lacks the encoder as it only has a CD-R drive only). So this leaves confused. All documentation points to the 300Mhz model never getting a Rev B motherboard update. So can someone please tell me what I have?  Thanks in advance!

??? The Serial Number on the back of computer is "SG916CFAG9D". Checking Every Mac and Google brought up no answers. So could I have a rarity? The first documented revision of it's kind? And here I thought I was just getting a regular Rev B, with the seller getting the specs wrong on listing!

Maybe the motherboard's been swapped? Here are serial number search results from 2 different sites... both note manufacture in Singapore.

I have the opposite config.

A rev. 1 with a G3 450. Rev. 1 only had 300/350/400 models IIRC. Originally came with a G3 350.

I have a G4 400 ZIF module waiting for this machine. http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,1213.0.html
