Is there something better in Masterlist compared to Waveburner Pro 2.1?

BTW..there is long german review about Waveburner Pro 2.1:
https://www.amazona.de/test-emagic-waveburner/
although pictures doesn't look like Mac OS 9, in text it says that test machine was:
"MAC Power PC G3 / 400 /OS 9.1  mit Audiomedia III, Cubase VST und 160 MB RAM"
and minimum system requirements:
"
· Power Macintosh(min.604e /200 MHz)
· Mac OS 8.6 oder neuer
"
What is actually the last Waveburner Pro version for Mac OS 9?
And how that version numbering goes, if last version of Waveburner (not pro) for OSX is 1.61. (or is there newer in Logic9?) ?
...I think Oldschool DAW forum had some information about that.

following up while comparing features...

ad MLCD)

before MasterlistCD, there was MasterList PDS - for Yamaha PDS Compact Disc Recorder & for the Otari DDR-10. MLCD was the bargain mastering app that started the CD revolution. All digi bashing aside. This was a revolution.

ad Waveburner)

i just got hold of WaveBurner Pro (boxed) and even before it arrives i wanted to grab the latest drivers (shared for convenience below) for it when i discovered
Waveburner had its own EASI driver to directly access digidesign hardware .

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.emagic-mirror.com/pub/waveburner/wb_easi_dio.sit
also it was the only link that was down. *facepalm*

I hope it will be included on the CD-ROM. The CD-Rom is the copy protection similar to the other Products of Emagic at that time, was it ever successfully copied? Classic only so right up our alley. EMAGICs AudioWerk PCI cards are mentioned countless times which are 16/44 only afaik even the digital side of it. Nevertheless it appears this app allows to record with realtime VSTs via Digidesign MIXcore(24bit), digi001(16bit), AMIII (16bit)--
Correct me if im wrong.

it sure looks nice if it has a mix/blend control on each plugin insert like DSP-Quattro does.

ad DSP-Quattro)

im looking for the latest os 9 version to try, anyone care to share?

Hi ! We can safely assume any update through the internet will fail because that link may not be available anymore, given OS 9 is almost 2 decades old. You may want to try to find the update on macintosh garden or Macintosh Repository.

WaveBurner wins Eddy Award!
San Francisco, January 4th 2000

At this year's Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Emagic received an Editors' Choice award from Macworld
magazine on the eve of the show's opening.
The award for the Best Audio Software in 1999 was presented to Emagic in honor of WaveBurner 1.0.
Competing in the same category was MacSourcery's BarbaBatch 3.0 and Steinberg's Cubase VST 4.1. It
seems that the editors of Macworld were impressed with WaveBurner's elegant interface and unique features
which include an interactive waveform display, drag and drop PQ editing, real-time sample rate conversion
and non-destructive region based editing.
The 15th Annual Macworld Editors' Choice Awards ceremony (nicknamed 'the Eddys') was held at the
Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco and hosted by John de Lancie, the actor most famous for his
appearances as the sentient being 'Q', on Star Trek's Next Generation series. Emagic's president, Sven Kindel, was on hand to receive the award and reiterated Emagic's commitment to the Macintosh line in his
acceptance speech

I posted a "should be working" (*) solution in January, but, since nobody cared to test it, let alone reply to my inquiry, that job landed in the trash.

(*) I did it on a virtual machine, so I wasn't 100% sure.

The installation cd is waveburner pro 2.0

It tried internet update during installation

I get this error

That error should be solved by installing Logic 3-6.

EASI I/O drivers are like "ASIO Drivers but for Logic" AFAIK

To work with ASIO you need the folder "ASIO" populated with the drivers of your hardware

Same for EASI Folder IIRC

LOL! If you double-click the EASI I/O driver file, this is the standard error Mac OS will throw at you. See original picture.

No, I can not. I had no personal interest in WB and deleted my experiments shortly after I got no replies. If Protools5LEGuy have saved a copy, you might ask him. But beware that it was not finished.

That was done on purpose!

If you post something here as attachment, it stays here forever. Then everyone and his brother downloads it, re-posts it in other places, garden, repository, torrents etc. epp. If something is not right, bitching and moaning all over the place breaks loose.
To avoid that, when it comes to testing and unfinished stuff, I will always stick to 3rd party services that offer as short storage time as possible. Those who know/need it will download it asap, all others can wait.
