The truth about the planned obsolescence.
« on: July 19, 2016, 01:46:12 PM »

Just find this article.

What do you think about Apple´s planned obsolescence on Mac OS 9 and PowerPC?

Clearly Steve Jobs didn't want to "fight" with "System 7" legacy for a better future for his NeXT Step OS, and wanted some time to port (with some success) to PowerPC his 1996 Intel NeXT Step OS.

On the other side, I see my G4s as The Centennial Light. Quality-wise, new/other computers do not last so long...

No. Mac Os 9 haven't planned obsolescence. and that's why S. Jobs had  to kill it using other methods.

Just to note: NeXTStep was originally 68k code.

Yeah, but just before Apple bought it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXTSTEP#Release_history
