PowerMac Fan Noise
« on: December 11, 2015, 03:30:16 PM »

will leaving the big fan under the power supply disconnected ruin or over heat my G4 Desktop? i have done this and noticed it to be way quieter. my graphics card has no fan built so there is just the small cpu fan on the side of the tower and the power supply running. i intend to only run a D.A.W. on os9.

I wouldn't do that ...
At some point, the CPU will be overheated, and will crash. You'll reduce the CPU life, and in the worst scenario, ruin it.

You can change it with a quitter fan. But i think these of power supply are noisier.

I plan to change these too I'll feedback if i do it But these 3 Noctua fans cost 60€ on LDLC

So Fractal Design Silence (cheaper) or Noctua ?
Is anyone have better choice ?
