i know we have waldorf d pole is that the best filter plugin of this type?
or is there other contenders?

perhaps freefilter is the dpole filter re-skinned?
i read that steinberg distributed teh dpole for waldorf
and they have a history of rebranding products to a new name
(like they did to ableton live, callinng it steinberg remix)

This plugin comes with Steinberg Mastering Edition, I think, and has nothing to do with Waldorf D-Pole. Furthermore, Elemental Audio Firium is way better IMHO.

dude.. its a filter plug in..
thats why i was COMPARING it to the waldorf dpole filter..
trying to think of what other analog filter emulation type plugins there are..

It has nothing to do with Waldorf D-Pole, in this way, as a re-skinned version,  I mean.

beside the fact that steinberg does not do "reskins" ... i would even go so far and claim that d-pole is probably not an equalizer.

The FreeFilter was designed to analyse the fequency characteristics of a certain audio signal, and then to apply them to a signal of your choice.

You could therefore analyse the Master of your favorite recording and then apply it to your bounces. This, however, worked better in therory than in practise.
