Drum replacement with Sample Cell

I've never really considered using Sample Cell but I'm curious to at least try it someday. Does Sample Cell/Pro Tools happen to have some sort of Key feature where I can take Ddrum trigger track and run it through Sample Cell for triggering? Maybe it wasn't that advanced yet though. I'm sure Sample Cell works with midi at least, so maybe the process back then was converting a trigger track to midi first, then running it through Sample Cell.
