im remembering that article on using the digi 001 with logic 4.x and that u could use audiowerk cards (multiple)
in combination with the digi 001.. http://web.archive.org/web/20000229110634/http://www.emagic.de/english/news/digi001.html

Quote
If extra outputs are required, Logic Audio Platinum supports the simultaneous use of different audio hardware, allowing you to add up to 3 x Audiowerk8 audio cards, thus providing 24 extra individual outputs.
why 3? did they say 3 because g4s have 4 pci slots.. and -1 required by the 001 = 3? or is there a real limit of 3 actual audiowerk cards ie: driver limitation? heres my old thread: http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=1740.0

my question is..
is this specific only to the audiowerk card? doesnt this card use EASI drivers?
would another card be able to do the same thing or is this specific only to the audiowerk card?
can u enable any number of audio drivers in logic if u had 1 card using ASIO and 1 card using EASI drivers
and another card using.. i dunno.. what other type of driver is there :D right. DIRECT IO (for digi 001)

can u have any number of these boxes checked, correspondign to any number of devices?
and logic will aggreggate them into one large interface.. ?
(yes yes we know mac os x has this ability built into its core audio but we arent talking osx)

im hoping someone can confirm this for me, because it seems to be a powerful trick up emagics sleeve
and instantly makes sense out of the hype that began about logic back then and continues even to today

i mean they even have 2 tabs just for audio drivers settings:D

forgive the pc windows screenshot couldnt find a mac one  lol

PC AV, WAVE PLAYER, VS, AUDIOWERK, DIRECT I/O, DS2416, ASIO

im wondering if i can use my RME96/8 -2analog in + 8 digital (adat)
in combination with my digi 001 | 8 analog in, 8 digital in (adat)
at the same time simultaneously to give me a total of
10 analog ins + 16 digital ins

for sure that wouldnt work in pro tools le.. but
maybe it might in LAP?

You can use a direct i/o card (digi 001-am3)
And any Asio card (m-audio)
And a easi card (@udiowerk)
One from each box and only one. I can only use digidesign hardware in direct I/O, at least my 001 and my am3.
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

if this is true i just realized i could also do this setup
delta 1010LT x 2 = 16 analog in / 4 digital in
combined with
digi 001 = 8 analog in / 8 ch of adat in / 2ch spdif in
to give me, 24 analog in.. 14 digital ins.. for a total of 38 inputs!

hmmmm but only in logic..
