Details: Full version of 9.2.2 for all Mac G3 and G4 Systems...

Contains: Mac OS ROM Version 10.2.1, Mac OS CPU Software 5.9 from 04.2003, Graphics Card Updates from 10.2002

BACKGROUND & INSTALLATION NOTES:
This archive was created from the original apple software that was included with an MDD 1.25 GHZ. FW400 G4 2003, the last official G4 tower that could boot directly to Mac OS 9.  With the original Apple OS X and OS 9 Restore CDs that came with it (Updated for the 2003 Model), I created a Dual Boot G4; however before booting to Mac OS 9 for the first time I then dragged a copy of the fresh 9.2.2 (system, apps, documents) install to a sub folder called "OS 9 Drag Install." This fresh install can be copied to the root folder level of an internal or external Drive (FireWire) to create a bootable Mac OS 9.2.2 System.

Now for the 3 min OS 9.2.2 Install... Create a Bootable FW extranal drive, then Boot any G3 / G4 to the 9.2.2 FW drive (by Hold alt-Option Key).  Run Drive Setup from the FW Drive and Partition and Format the internal hard disk (Mac OS Extended). Now simply drag the OS 9.2.2 install folders (system, apps, documents) from Firewire drive to the root of the freshly formatted internal HD. Reboot (Hold alt) and select the internal hard drive. All G3s and G4s can have 9.2.2 installed in minutes by this method... Power Mac, iBook, iMac, or Powerbook.

As a Final Note  After the install you can run the System profiler to see what video card is in the newly setup mac and run the extensions manager to turn off the nVidia or ATI drivers that the current system doesn't need as well as any other un-needed extensions.

Instructions: Most of our files have been encoded with MacBinary format (.bin) so that the data and the resource fork of the file will not be damaged when storing the file on a non-Macintosh file system. After downloading, if the file does not automatically decode by double-clicking, we recommend opening StuffIt Expander and Selecting "File" and "Open" to decode the downloaded file. StuffIt Expander is included in every Mac OS 9 installation. Additionally, once the StuffIt Expander app is open, check EDIT > PREFERENCES > INTERNET and "use stuffit expander for all available types"
