Fix for problems with ReWire in some versions of Cubase VST:

When you are running Reason together with Cubase VST via the ReWire protocol, a situation may occur, where Cubase VST runs out of audio channels. As a result, you will not be able to use some VST Instruments in Cubase VST.

If this problem occurs, proceed as follows:

1. Quit Reason if it’s running.

2. Quit Cubase VST if it’s running.

3. In the same folder as this Read Me file, you will find a file called ‘ReWire Cubase Fix’. Copy this into the Extensions folder, within your System folder. (If in doubt, look for the file ‘Reason Engine’. The ‘ReWire Cubase Fix’ file should be in the same folder as that file).

4. Restart Reason.

Now, Reason will only use 16 ReWire channels (instead of 64), leaving more room for other audio channels in Cubase VST.
above is from the readme

confirmed this fix file from v1.0 does indeed work for v2.0
i havent tested v2.5 yet but its to be assumed that it will do the same function
that is limiting the rewire channels from 64 to 16
u can of course turn this on and off by removing/installing the extension in the extensions folder
for whatever reason this file doesnt seem to require a reboot to activate/deactivate
(i dont think its a proper extension file, i dont understand how it works really but it does)

if somehow you get "no more mixer channels" error again..this is because too many rewire channels are populating
usually because of reason..
u may have to launch reason by itself and close it again to get the 16 channel limit imposed by the "REASON CUBASE FIX" file placed in extensions folder...

so close all apps.. launch reason.. quit.. THEN relaunch cubase.. check under panels -> rewire
and cound the rewire channels that are shown for reason.. it should be limited to 16 channels..
