Steinberg Virtual Guitarist

Hi,

I installed the orginal Virtual Guitarist and it works great. It latches and behaves like it supposed to do.
Great piece of software. It holds perfectly in my mixes.

The VGEE is still a problem. It loads but somehow doesn't play the phrases. Maybe the data path is wrong or something. Since I am the only one who experiences this problem it probably is something in my setup. I will try reinstalling the app.

Step by step installation of Virtual Guitarist:
1-Burn the first .toast image to a CDR
2-Run the installer and follow instructions
3-Mount the second and third .toast image within Toast
4-Read the included file on the first disk and copy all specified content from mounted images to the Virtual Guitarist directory
5-Startup your VST host, and select Virtual Guitarist
6-Specify the data path to the Virtual Guitarist directory
7-Close and restart Virtual Guitarist
8-Play & have fun!

Default controls (can be changed in setup):
Sustain pedal; press and you'll hear a single chord
Modulation wheel; Dial up to hear a fill-in phrase, Dial down to hear the selected phrase

Problem solved! Solution: copy the original content folder to the same directory as the VST VGEE Plugin directory of e.g. Cubase. In other words...a data path problem.

Sorry I did not read the thread earlier... but that is what I would have told you... most of the Steinberg stuff will default search to the current folder for samples/patches and then it looks for absolutes paths found in the patches... a real bitch when it comes to stuff like Halion 1 & 2... so the rule of thumb I use is to try to put the samples on the same volume (ex Mac OS Volume) so that after using the "locate files" once it will remember the path... also don't rename your volume after you install plugins... this causes many issues with sampler based plugins.  (For example, I has a unit that the User changed his boot volume from "Mac HD" to "Mac OS" and half his stuff did not work
