Bunchtyper http://www.umich.edu/~archive/mac/util/diskfile/bunchtyper1.01.cpt.hqx
Do ChangeMaker 2  (In the same folder) and Creatorchanger  do the same?

Here's a list of the Actions that can be applied to files:

File Manipulator is the ultimate file/folder manipulation utility. It allows you to create self-contained Droplets to Move, Copy, Delete, and Rename files/folders, Change File Types and Creators, Log files, and more. You can limit which files are manipulated using a variety of powerful criteria, including Size, Label, Name, Attributes, Comments, Image Type, Version, etc. File Manipulator and the Droplets created by it run natively on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.

$20 single-user

This 2.0.2 version is still on sale...
Maybe if you or Chris ask him to release the 1.0 version.

The solution I readed on Quadras blog is not good?
If you register is 10 bucks but only if.

Beside DieHard recommendations we have got 4 more utils to make that.
-File manipulator
-Bunchtyper
-ChangeMaker 2
-Creatorchanger

Why did you choose to use that, IIO?

P.D.: The same authors of chaotic software have also Drop*Attribute http://www.chaoticsoftware.com/ProductPages/DropAttribute.html http://www.chaoticsoftware.com/products/drop-attribute-30.hqx

i think i tried like 10 tools or so back in OS7 times end ended up with the "a abetter finder something" stuff, what later has been put into one app called file manipulator.

for me it is very important that i can make droplets, because i often need to do the same process.

and the combinations of different conditions, for example name and date) makes the whole thing very safe. without any conditions set you must be careful not to drop a whole HD onto it. :)
