Have been getting these locally here in middle America for less than $4.00 each
(instead of the often usual 8 to nearly $10.00 each). BUT if you search for:1/2 AA 3.6 V battery

similar options are available for as little as $2.00 each.(Zeno brand XL-050F)

Same here in Europe - the 1/2 AA 3.6 V are still fairly easy to get. What is more difficult to find are these blocks Apple used primarily in some Performa models - and of course Pismo PRAM batteries.

I have one of these block batteries, empty. Does someone know if the cells inside can be replaced easily ? If so, I'll gladly donate it to somebody who can make it work again. I have no corresponding machine but somehow didn't want to throw it away.
