Color depth on new install G4 Mac Mini
« on: October 30, 2024, 12:18:09 PM »

I just finished installing OS 9 after upgrading the HW on my G4 Mac Mini (SSD, 1G RAM).  I'm using a DVI to Displayport adapter and I do get video and can change resolutions, etc.  However, the color depth etc seems very low.  Reminds me of how Windows NT looked after first installing it and it using the std VGA driver.

I had also tried this going directly into a DVI monitor and got the same behavior.

Do I need to install any ATI drivers?

I ended up switching to VGA, works fine.  No idea what was going on with DVI.
