The XSKey Updater is a simple to use tool that upgrades the firmware of your XSKey. This is not generally necessary, but may correct problems with XSKeys that are not being recognized or otherwise behaving erratically.

I strongly doubt this updater contains all the information that's actually needed for the dongle to activate the software. No doubt there's some sort of key that never leaves the device. This stuff wasn't made by chumps. Unfortunately!
