"Code fragment not prepared" error on B&W g3
« on: April 19, 2015, 05:58:13 AM »

http://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/motu-issue-gport-code-fragment-not-prepared-error-message/

heres a technote from sweetwater on why this error occurs..  apparently its to do with serial ports on a B&W g3....
i got this from having a megawolf remus pci card installed... (because i dont have a stealth port for this machine)
this happens from the supporting extensions not being enabled

MOTU recommends the following extension set for optimization of DSP functions and/or trouble shooting:
FreeMIDI Power Plug
FreeMIDI System extension
Serial Tool and/or Serial (built in) (some Yosemite Macs may not have this extension)
Shared library manager
Shared library manager PPC
SOM Objects

With a gPort installed, restarting a Yosemite Mac with a limited extension set can be problematic. If you’re getting “Code Fragment could not be prepared” error message to appear on startup, not allowing you to restart, here’s what you do.

1. Restart with the shift key to disable all extensions.
2. Go to the extensions manager control panel (may be in the system folder/control panels disabled) and choose Mac OS Base from the extension set drop down list.
3. Hit the duplicate set button, rename the set.
4. Add any extensions from the above list that are not active in this set and add the two Gport extensions.

From this point you should be able to restart the computer and operate with the gPort without problems.
