convert midi track to audio?
« on: July 13, 2014, 08:22:26 PM »

whats the fastest way to do this?
File export-> audio mixdown?

i did this once but my volume level was way too low in the file when i imported it back into the same project

i saw some options in pulldown menus about freeze..
this isnt the same as freezing midi to audio to save cpu power right?
that was something that came in later versions right?
not in v5 vst?

Yes there are differences if I can recall - I think it was 5.2pb1 is where they implemented the system
link. There were a few rules to follow if one were to use this version.

Can't seem to find the read me file - steinbergs site doesn't link to the right file.
The link to the PC version works just not the Mac version.

But there was something to do with the master fader and automation? or was it during export? - maybe someone remembers.

such thing as freeze doesnt exist in OS9.

normally a mixdown/render should be a 100% copy of what you played into it. how did the procedure you used look like?

I haven't used it, but it is like two VST systems (let's say two Cubase) in different computers linked with S/PDIF connection. It is not an ordinary SPDIF digital audio connection. It is some kind of distributed and "remote" VST system, like a Rewire, but VST, between different computers over S/PDIF.

For Cubase 5.2pb1 if I recall correctly the moving or automation of the master volume could
produce some undesirable effects on mixdown- can't seem to find the read me file for the beta version.
