Title: Using external audio card for non-aiso e.g. Itunes
Post by: arjen_1 on April 07, 2014, 08:06:13 AM
Hi,

I have an external audiocard which I use for my DAW etc. Is it possible to use it for all non-aiso (system) applications e.g. Itunes? Those applications are still working with the onboard soundscard/soundmanager.

Greetz,
Arjen

Many cards (but not all) have the option to route "System Sounds" to the card... check the cards control panel and readme... however, just be ready for an extremely loud OS "BEEP" when you are in the middle of something, it does get a little tricky balancing system sound volumes when using an audio card for system sounds.  Also, some apps will route and some (like iTunes) may ignore the routing... trial and error :)
