Title: IIcx video problems...
Post by: keithiepoo on October 19, 2026, 02:07:23 PM
Hello folks...

My IIcx seems unable to send a signal to the monitor. It's VGA-out is going into the VGA-in of an LCD. It's been working alright up to this point, but last night (10/18/26), I kept getting a message that said "out of range".

I've rebooted the machine several times. In the past, this worked when I got that message. It's not working anymore. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the video board? And yes I've jiggled the video cable lol, and I made sure it's connected firmly both ends.

I also tried a different monitor, as well as changing video cables. No difference. The machine otherwise booted up because I got my startup sound.

And, just for the record, I also messed with the video board a bit, to make sure it was seated properly in its slot. I don't think I could push it down any further.

Attached are a couple of photos. One is of the video card, the other’s the adaptor connecting said card to the VGA cable.

Oh... system specs: OS 7.5.3, 131MB of RAM, and 64GB blueSCSI SD card. A buddy recently recapped this, and the machine’s been behaving well up to this point.

Thanks!
