Title: Whats So Special About the Geforce3 ?
Post by: PrepperGeek on June 17, 2026, 05:07:38 PM
I have recently acquired a PowerMac G4 Digital Audio 733, and it has the revered Nvidia Geforce 3 in it. There are better cards than it out there that are cheaper, like the Geforce 4 Ti. But also, I have yet to see one of these cards for less than $250 on ebay. Is it literally just because this thing fits in the Cube?

it is probably because it so rare. when i remember that right it was a build to order upgrade which only existed for about 12 months. as you say, the 4mx is slower but most ti are equal or faster.

Ah, that makes sense, I thought it was a BTO option for the cube only.

Can you post a firmware dump of your GeForce 3 to compare with the dumps from http://themacelite.wikidot.com/wikidownloads2 ?
