MacPortrait appears to max out at ancient TPD resolutions. Is there a more current solution? Windows and Ubuntu have had me spoiled for the longest. ::)
The last time I ran a second screen in that orientation on a Mac it was the Macintosh Portrait Display on the 2300c/DuoDock+ next to the 21" Radius TPD it shared with the DA a couple of decades ago. Been running on a single screen for my OS9 Graphics Suite for the longest time on the series of G4 PortlyMac upgrades over the years. I'm setting up the MDD'03 OS9 Special Edition.
Tried to do a second screen in Portrait Mode from the AGP VidCard, but no joy. Thought it was single card limitation, but now with a PCI card up and running next to it there still seems to be no option to go Portrait.
BTW, playing with MacPortrait beat the snot outta the Monitors Control Panel. Tried to reinstall it individually from our 9.2.2 CD, but no go. Good thing I'm setting up a brand new boot drive tomorrow!

Tried SwitchRes 2.5.3 with no joy there either.
However I did think to message them with a request for release of the source code for that and the earlier version. We'll see what happens, we might get lucky? Thinking it's likely not what I need to achieve Portrait Mode in 1920x1200 or even 1080p? But it might be modified to coax a full 1440p out of the 64MB on the ATI PCI card that's pushing ONLY 2048x1152 ATM? ;D
I figure the source code might be useful to sorcerers like @Melkhior conjuring up brand new VidCards for PDS and NuBus? Or not . . . gotta ask, folks there were generous enough to release those programs for general use in the RetroMac community.

I have never found or heard of a Mac OS 7-9 compatible way to rotate anything beyod than the first display the Mac sees at boot. Even with multiple cards, I was only ever to rotate the 1st of the displays. It would be great to find a solution, so please update us if you figure out a way to make it happen!
