Have been working here on a pair of early, Sawtooth Macs and due to local supplier no longer stocking the 128 GB Inland SSDs that I have so often used in the past, I ordered several of the Netac SSDs.
[You can still order the Inlands online… but thought I’d try the Netacs instead… just for a change.]

The Netacs seem to perform almost identically to the Inlands. And current pricing is also similar. At one point I seem to remember reading somewhere that internally, they are very nearly the same. Online now, pricing for both the Inlands & the Netacs hover right around $20.00 each… as opposed to the $13.00 that I paid for the Inland SSDs, a year or so ago.
So, anyone else using the Netacs… and your experience with them?
I’ve read both good and bad reviews for these lower cost Netac SSDs. So far here, they do seem okay.
(The 120 and 128 GB versions anyway). ::)
And here in the U.S. — the Netacs ship from the State of Kentucky, while I understand that our European members often order them direct from China?

Are these PATA or SATA? Is a Sawtooth with a SATA card? Can you link us to the place you buy them from?

As far as here in SoCal, I'm seeing many SSDs that are less than 2 years old (Both NVMe and 2.5") simply die. Many are no-name brands, but WDs, Patriot, and even a few samsung have made their way in that are DOA.
One trick is to hook them up (power only) for about 30 min, and sometimes this revives them for a recovery only scenario, since many will go into a diag/repair mode.
And Pricing... I bought 30 drives 250 thru 1 TB from amazon in November/Black Friday, price has more than doubled, Crucial 1TB NVMe were $59 in May 2025, $79 on Black Friday, now $169... WTF !
My supply stock of Mechanical drives was at 425, gave 250+ to a local kid that were 250gb and below, still have about 175 to 200 laptop and desktop drives that are looking more and more reliable these days. I thought they were gonna be ewaste, but now I am changing my mind :)
