Title: Issues with blue colour on CRT TV
Post by: blazer1878 on November 24, 2025, 11:33:46 AM
I have 14 inch TV and it has issue of blue colour dominating the image, causing black to be blue etc and it's really annoying

Ignoring for a moment why you would be asking such a question on this forum…

I happen to have some background in CRT video. Your TV has what are called "bias" or "screen" controls. One for each of the three colors. It would appear (as if one could say with certainty from here) that the blue is out of adjustment.

THAT IS ONLY A FIRST GUESS AND NOT THE ONLY POSSIBLE ISSUE. I do NOT, repeat NOT recommend you start sticking your hand inside that old thing and begin twisting stuff around. There's at least a 90% chance you will get knocked on your butt.

It's also possible that your game console has a color problem. You should start by eliminating that possibility by testing the console with a different TV and/or a different source with the TV.
Maybe you have an old VCR or something that will connect to the TV to check the picture or even an digital–to–analog TV converter box.

I have same issue no matter what i connect: Apple TV 1st gen, PS3, PS2
About why i ask this here is because people there might be familiar with crt quirks, due to one of the most popular mac os 9 machine having crt(iMac G3)
About twisting stuff inside: i cut out some plastic to access focus and some other knob on the side using non conductive screwdriver
