Title: Looking for TDM 1.2
Post by: roymaya on May 06, 2025, 06:27:12 PM
Hi, anybody have a copy of the TDM 1.2 for Pro Tools III?  I've tried searching the web but I can't seem to find a copy anywhere.  I've even tried Archive.org with no luck.

That's interesting, I didn't know there were different versions of the TDM 1.2 disks.  I've only seen the ones with the Pro Tools label.  So the story is that I'm trying to put together a PTIII system.  I have a Disk I/O and 2 DSP farm cards installed in a Radias 81/100 with Pro Tools 3.1, but the system is not complete without the TDM install.  Is TDM 1.2 the correct version for Pro Tools 3?  Do you know which versions of TDM went with which versions of Pro Tools?

Thanks

So in essence we are offtopic since this is not os9 territory

06/20/1994  2.5 (initial TDM release)
Beyond that maybe your extensive research will bring further light when the later versions were
Released.

Thats a cute little nubus rig you got there, here you can discuss pre os9 retro audio things as well

Even with how expensive Pro Tools was back then, I'm sure there were a lot more than 5000 PTIII rigs around back in the day.  I'm sure they sold at least 20,000. Of course, I'm just guessing.   :D

1994, ca. 7000 rigs (see ad where they brag about it)

#4604 on my 08/03/1994 retail 2.51
#5003 on your 3.1 retail version, i got the same as well with #6286
i also got a backup installer TDM 3.1 #4604

PCI arrived with 3.22 and that was in 1996, so 10000 sounds reasonable 2 years later. i got the retail box here of 3.22 as well

the serials on the cards itself only tell half the story. cause a "rig" is the software plus the hardware.
