Title: After Dark patched for OS9 compatibility
Post by: Bolkonskij on March 16, 2025, 03:24:44 AM
From our front page (link) (http://macos9lives.com/?post=after-dark-patched-for-os9-compatibility):

After Dark, the legendary screen saver (think flying toasters!) has been patched for OS9 compatibiltiy. Whereas a bug caused it to crash on OS9, it'll now work fine - thanks to cybernetixzero who reverse-engineered the code and applied a bugfix. The patched package & more info is available on the Macintosh Garden.

Anybody been trying this out?

I've just installed it on 9.2.2 yesterday evening and I now have flying toasters on my Mac Mini ;-) neat!

I have focused on other stuff for a while now. Need to give this a go ASAP though.

Thanks for the heads up! :)

I've got the Mowin' Man tending to my screen, but the framerate really drops when I'm trying to unstuff a file at the same time. He kinda just hangs out in the middle of the screen for a bit before stuttering along.
