Hey folks!
So this came out of a Reddit thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageApple/comments/1hcaovq/how_to_remove_rounded_corners_on_classic_macos/ (https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageApple/comments/1hcaovq/how_to_remove_rounded_corners_on_classic_macos/) ) over someone asking whether it is possible to override the Classic Mac OS's ability on setting the menu bar with rounded edges or sharp edges.
The behavior of the Classic Mac OS is that if the menu bar is on a LCD monitor connected via ADC or DVI, or a built in LCD on a PowerBook, the menu bar will have sharp corners. If it detects a VGA/DB15 monitor, it will set the corners to round edges.
There are times where this behavior may be undesirable, such as connecting VGA LCD's to Classic Macs. Such is the case with my Mac Mini, it does have a DVI connector on it but it has issues with 1920x1200 on DVI-D, so I have to use VGA. Unfortunately, that does result in the rounded corners.
Anyways, goin' on a bit of a ramble here, but I was wondering whether anyone has found a way to override the sharp vs rounded menu bar corners using ResEdit or something else?

the black corners are most likely a 2-bit mask hidden somewhere in the system suitcase, but i have no idea where, and it might be a type of resource which resedit does not have a graphical editor for.
note that the rounded corners exist in all 4 corners, they are not linked to the menubar but rather to the "desktop" window.
p.s.: actually they already exist before the bootmanager starts up.
