Title: Longtime Apple II and Mac user in Los Angeles
Post by: bbellina on November 18, 2024, 01:28:26 PM
Hello.

I am a longtime Apple II and Mac owner.  I started programming on an Apple ][+ and later a IIGS. My first new Mac was a Mac TV. My second was a G3 B&W tower.  I now have a small home AppleTalk network that includes several other vintage Macs including a Mac Plus, Color Classic II, G3 iMac (Indigo 350 MHz), MacMini G4, and a few others.

I have continued to develop HyperCard and HyperCard IIGS stacks and distribute them freely from my website at Silverwand Software.  If you have an AppleTalk network with vintage Macs and want to play Apple's HyperBattleship! that was released with System 7 on Mac OS 9, then download my updated version of the stack that is OS 9 compatible from my site.

Glad to be here.

Welcome to Mac OS 9 Lives! I'm sure going to give HyperBattleship a go. What's the URL to your website?

My software site is https://sites.google.com/view/silverwandsoftware/.  I wasn't sure if links were permitted.

Regards,
Brendan

Welcome to Mac OS 9 Lives, Brendan!

Just visited your page with the Mac section! By the way, how about a legacy version of your page that allows to visit it from the very machines it is about?

I'm a Hypercard fan myself and its package with all manuals is staring at me from the shelf next to me. I've been wanting to dive deeper into it ever since as I find it's a powerful and greatly underestimated tool. But, ah well, time constraints. At times I wish I was a single young student again :-) Are you currently working on something in Hypercard? Maybe something we could add to our release list (http://macos9lives.com/release-list)?

And HyperBattleship sounds like a fun diversion for the kids. Thanks for updating / suggesting it! *thumbs up*
