• Mac: Symbolic Sound announced the PCI-bus interface on 1 Sep '96 for connecting the Capybara-66 to Macintosh or Wintel hosts; it made the system compatible with the then-current PCI Power Macintosh generation. PCI systems began shipping in Sep '96.

  • Upgrade path: Capybara-66 owners could exchange 66 expansion cards for 320 cards usable in existing motherboards, or trade the complete system for the new Capybara-320 motherboard.
  • Base system included 4 channels analog + digital I/O, external sync and choice of host interface; a four-channel I/O expansion was available.
