Title: Batch video converter ?
Post by: Bolkonskij on November 09, 2024, 02:21:39 AM
Does somebody know of a batch video converter for OS 9? One where I'd feed it a folder of files, have it e.g. set a codec and resolution and then hitting a "Go" button while walking away and having my three dozen videos converted?

I tried looking around on the Mac Garden, but only could find OS X PPC stuff (like iSquint / VisualHub). Does something like this exist for Mac OS too?

Hm... Didn't Apple ship "Compressor" with Final Cut for Mac OS 9 as well? At least in the OSX version it does what you're asking for. Batch processing of videos from format X to format Y.

i wouldnt torture myself with video on os 9, it was possible but it required hardware cards like for Media 100 or Media Composer.

Video -> always use the latest tech.

only cleaner does this in MacOS9. (i´d recommend v4 over v5 for the GUI)

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll have a look into cleaner!

Principally I tend to agree with you, but this is not about editing 4k video for YouTube but retro compatible stuff in the 320x240 dimension using old codecs no modern software supports.
