Title: Reasons galore
Post by: torvan on November 08, 2024, 09:28:31 AM
Okay, so why haven't I been online much ANYWHERE:

1. House is going through a remodel. Not just one room-the whole damn house. Bath will finish on Nov 12, Kitchen starts Nov 11.

2. QS G4 dual had a hardware controller card failure.

3. Comcast did an update to the router that caused it to fail, so had to order a new router from them.

4. Election garbage. I was tired of seeing ads on television and on line, so I decided to read more often.

Life is life, at times. Hang in there, all remodeling will eventually be finished, the election IS finished and the hardware stuff can be solved :-)

Yeah, but man it is STILL going on--like today the electricians came in and installed outlets and pot lights. Yesterday it was scraping the 1970s popcorn ceiling down.
Tomorrow is patching walls.

The controller card was replaced and works fine now.

New router installed.

Yes, it was finished, and it was just 12 votes separating two candidates for a county representative after a hand recount. Proof that your single vote can make a difference.

Well everything planned and unplanned but had to be done (Queue "Love it or List it") is done. Some minor things are happening in March but those were planned for and are being done free since it is contractor errors. Marked up kitchen cabinet, and cracked floor trim both from appliance installation.

Now to wait for Summer to come, when the doors will be sprayed and the French doors to the back are replaced with a sliding door. But that a July-August thing when doors will dry quickly in 90F heat, and the back door can be easily replaced.

Why wait to summer? Break in the remodel, allows for cash reserves to grow again, and the rain and snow and subfreezing temps won't bother me nor the contractor.

Good call on waiting for summer!. Spraying doors in warm weather will definitely give you better results. :) :)

No need to rush, especially with the weather factor. Hope the final touches go smoothly!
