Don't know if VLC or others worked in old OSX versions but with recent macs/systems it's a no go. Several companies pretend their software can play Blurays and DVDs from all regions but with Sonoma (and maybe systems prior to this) it's a no, they're lying !! Apple surely made sure to strengthen the level of limitations...well, I'm out of topic
Is there such a player/workaround in MacOS9?
I read that carefully, interesting: http://www.powerbook-fr.com/dossiers/dvd_region_free_en_article30.html
Darn: PowerBook G3 (Pismo) Matsushita SR-8174 DVD-ROM C113 => RPC2 !
and mine is indeed C113 :( Lucky Lombard DVD SR-8173 users, they were Firewireless but RPC-1
I don't feel like cracking the firmware with the X113 patch, I've spent money and time on that Pismo and I don't want to take the risk of screwing up the drive !!!
Their RegionReset mini app doesn't work with Pismos :(
Has anyone met success with the second one: RegionChoice ??
Other solutions? Options? Once again, not a desperate issue, I don't have that many DVDs outside my zone (2) just a few zone 1 (US) and zone 3 (part of Asia) but I'm curious and want the best of the OS9 world !
