So, I got the Paid Subscriptions (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?action=profile;area=subscriptions) function working in the forum software. I can't test it myself (I only have one PayPal account at hand). If anyone is willing to help out with a few bucks, this is the preferred way to do it.
As a token of my appreciation you will get a "Supporter" banner instead of the post "dots" to mark your seniority. You will get the text "Project Patron" under your nickname as well.
Any thoughts on other payment "plans" than the current one is greatly appreciated as well.

Right now it looks like there are only 2 patrons if you search by "position" in the member list. I think if the call for patrons were a bit more prominent you may see more activity.

There is a right way and a wrong way to ask for money. This is a community. Dont kill it.

I just now used PayPal for this and it only allowed a recurring subscription. Single contributions should be accepted also. Something in the way you set it up?

Just went through the flow. The process was straightforward, thanks for the hard work keeping these communities alive!

Yeah, that's the way the forum software does it. I guess I could set up a Patreon or something like that to add support for a once payment, but I'm not in it for the money at all. Maybe adding a $1/month tier might be good enough?
And thanks a lot for all the support! :D
