Is there a definitive method of getting email to work on OS 9?
Cheers :)

The email client in Classilla still works, otherwise the alternative is to use something like STunnel to offload the TLS part.

i dont understand why everyone in this community isnt focussed on coming up with this proxy server type of workaround to making all modern web content functional somehow.. that would be a huge development dont you think?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunnel
STunnel sounds interesting ive only just heard of it by knez's reference
is this the solution? does anyone have this STunnel shit working?

It sure is! I have it up and running on my home network. One STunnel install on a Debian Linux machine that serves as a SSL/TLS proxy for all my old machines so they can send and receive emails.

i wouldnt mind seeing a video demonstration + verbal explanation of how it all works...?? if there is such a video?

Video would be a bit too much from my end, but I intend to do a nice write-up with some configuration examples.

I think definitely just attaching the config files would help many that are interested in setting it up on a small box
