As I never cared about PCMCIA/CardBus/PC Cards, I am kind of newbie regarding such hardware. Please go on and tell me what kind of Type I/II PC Cards are in existance for my 1GHz Ti Powerbook. I read in another thread that booting is sadly unsolved (what would double the "HD"-throughput compared to the IDE bus).
Go on and inspire me. What can be done with such cards? The more useful the better! Please just Mac OS 9 compatible stuff – so for example no no USB 2 cards that work as USB 1 ;)

Huh? What booting is unsolved? Off of PCMCI cards or off of something else external, like FW, for example?

Booting off PCMCIA, see here: https://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=5620.0
everything else works fine.

Oh, I see.
As to your original request, I think RME had a CardBus card for their Hammerfall audio interfaces, although I'm not 100% sure it was OS9 compatible. It came around 2001, so it must be, but with them, you'll never now. RME always were PC centric.
UPD. Just checked - yes, it was OS9 compatible. Not cheap though. ;)

the rme was also sold as Steinberg Nuendo 96/52 DSP Digital I/O Card and it works under os9
there also is a Magma CardBus that hooks up a full pro tools mix rig to your tibook - ive found the card and the drivers from waybackmachine ... one of these days im gonna hook it up

You succeeded in telling me about the only two cards I already was aware of. Both are too expensive and not mobile enough (but of course I would take them when offered as present) ;-p
Please go on telling me what further cards are existing! In fact I expected to have already 20 suggestions today and some aha-effects at my side. :)

smilesdavis, it is good that you brought up this thread after one year. The value of informations you provided should not be underestimated! Also now it is much more clear what PC cards are usable in the TI-Book ;-p
