Title: Drive seen in OS9 but not OSX
Post by: torvan on March 06, 2024, 04:04:21 PM
I seem to be having the opposite problem of the Google universe. My 1 TB SCSI drive can be seen, initiated, written to and read from just fine in OS9.  However, no version of OSX can even see it. Not in Terminal or in the GUI version of Disk Utility can even see it.  Yet again I boot into OS 9-and not a problem, I can use it to my heart's delight.

Just to make damn sure, I even installed OS 9 onto it and played 3 hours of music and an hour of Video. Rebooted to it four times, and still works just fine in OS 9.

But no flavor from Panther to Tiger to Leopard can see this one drive. Before I give up and just say "Screw OS X", anyone have any idea?

What Mac?
What SCSI controller?
Check ioreg in OS X (or IORegistryExplorer.app). Does OS X see the SCSI controller?
Can any other SCSI disk work with OS X and the SCSI controller?
