let me understand.. by purchasing the xs key do you authorize all Logic versions also for os9? ( 5..6 and plugins

These are the white keys from apple after emagic was absorbed. These white keys are very special as they unlock everything where the blue emagic keys you had to write specific product codes into them. FYI this eBay post is not mine. I did grab one just in case mine fails and you don’t see deals like this often so wanted pass it to the community. Yes works on MacOS9

I used to have two different white SX keys and a blue key. Sold them all. Now I've got two blue keys that won't authorize anything and a set of ADB dongles (sold my other set of ADB dongles for Mac, and one for Windows too) I had quite the collection. I don't even use Logic anymore but I grabbed one of these keys just in case the need arises in the future. I'm happy with SVP and Pro Tools.

60 sheesh for an academic.. i wouldnt pay 20 for the entire box with white dongle but hey inflation i guess

Actually, they were $55 and brand new; I don't know where you saw the white ones @ $20, but many have sold for $140 to $200 used since they do all versions; also, I think "academic" is identical to "non-academic" as far what it will activate, just got mine in, will test it this weekend if possible

You know, sitting in my living room are a beautiful pair of JBL 4412's that I got for 50 bucks.
They needed only new foam on the woofers and some polishing and they now look and sound like new.
That in no way makes $50 the "going rate" for a pair and I'm pretty sure I could die of old age before finding another pair at that price.
So, as previously posted, I bought one of those $55 dongleberries too. Why?
Because the best Logic dongle is the one you actually have.

I gave mine the quickest of quick tests when it arrived a couple of days ago. I was able to launch Logic Pro 6.4.3 on both OS9 and OSX. According to the preference pane in Panther, "Logic Platinum 7" (?) is authorized as is everything else with the exception of - oddly - Logic Gold 6.
Haven't done much more than that.

I got it to launch Logic on my OS9 machine, and while using the OSX SXKey app it says that the full list is authorized.

when you ask him for a card and he shows you enclosures of unknown content. :)
but you can indeed get those for about 50 bucks or less. if they make sense today is another question... you can get a powercore for 50 bucks, too.

NuVerb for 50 bucks? No way! The last one I bought for a client was 800 Euros. That was about 8 years ago. I spent quite some time hunting one down. It is still in daily use.
