Title: physical board size for G4 and G4 quicksilver
Post by: Ncc74656 on April 24, 2022, 01:10:39 PM
i am looking to mod a G4 into a Performa 630CD case. going off pictures online i 'think' i have a pretty good idea of board sizes but i wonder if some on here could measure their motherboard so i can confirm.

my plan is a G4 800-1.3 ish CPU, radeon 8500 PC card flashed over, custom PSU, and maybe 512mb ram. running 9.2.2

i currently own a 9200 radeon PCI and i was considering using a G3 B&W, then sodlering a G4 500 onto the daughter card. this board is smaller and better positioned but i think the native G4 would perform better with an AGP video card.  only issue i have is finding an AGP ribbon extension cable.

ill also have a 6360 with L2 G3 upgrade card and 9200 for sale if this build works out.

11.5625” Wide  X  9.875” High

That's an AGP... but the QS is same / but different. ;)
