Title: Unibrain 1394 Networking for Windows & Macintosh
Post by: supernova777 on January 30, 2014, 09:49:44 PM
Use the FireNet software to network two or more computers together
via their 1394 ports @ 400mbs (faster then 10/100 base T)

this is usefull for working with first gen g4's or powermac g3's that
feature a fireport + a 10/100 base T (non-gigabit) ethernet connection

I know that seems to be impossible, but I set an Appletalk between two MDDs and transfered 190MB file, first over Gigabite Ethernet and then over Firewire 400 (FireNet):

Appletalk over Gigabite Ethernet: 50 sec.
Appletalk over Firewire (FireNet): 60 sec.

Appletalk over Firewire 400 (FireNet) is almost as fast as over Gigabite Ethernet!

Great! It seem a solution for my G3!

Hi guys,

Those links don't seem to work for me. Can anyone post another? I'm revamping my dev system.

Cheers!

Has anybody tried if the serials are working?

Can we Res-Edit the 30 minutes thing?
