There's a 5CD library to go along with it. I think that'll be even harder to find.

Yes it is. But don't forget that was some kind of miracle to find -at least- the 1.1 and 1.2 versions.
It was uploaded by a user that prefer to remain anonymous, I think.
The next challenge is to find v1.3
The v1.5 is not very sure if was ever run on Mac Os 9...
-
Was it really that hard to find? I've seen a lot of copies of 2.0 out there. I'm debating whether I should use Kontakt exclusively now instead of ESX24.

Yes, I've seen them also. From version 1.5 to 5.3.
but none for Mac Os 9 :(
Was it really that hard to find?
Kontakt 1.3 (for Mac Os 9 of course)
Kontakt 1.5 (for Mac Os 9 "if exist")

I want to use BOTH.
I had a good EXS24 folder from logic5 pc (wavs instead aiff). Probably the format from Kontakt (or Kompakt) in OS9 is more advanced than the EXS format... My friends use Kontakt 4-5 OSX and told me that these formats are way ahead SampleTank for example (ST was know as a good sampler but aged quickly when Kontakt growed).
I had a good SampleTank collection from ProAudioTorrentz, but I loose a lot of things because every 7200 rpm hard disk tend to break. I have been using computers with not much focusing on heat issues and I had loose TOO MUCH material.
So for my next recordings/composing I want a "fresh" start with the full Logic 5-6 sounds, sampletank and kompakt all in OS9
A sampler is a sampler.... You can take SAME wavs/aiff/AKAI and use them in lots of sampler, but the more modern collections you can see exclusively in Kontakt 5. I guess with time you can "trigger" sounds from a Kontakt5 machine, record in "other" computer, cut the samples and make a patch for every sampler we have available (OS9 in our case) but it consumes TOO MUCH time for most of us.
Maybe we can sort it out a "quicker" method to convert SAMPLES than to use Awave "sample" by "sample"
Also Batch convert (a folder in wav to a folder in aiff) software can come in handy...

https://web.archive.org/web/20040810165914/http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?kontaktupdates_us - it exists. Maybe NI would be nice enough to give you the updaters if you emailed them. I'm not sure if the serial numbers from post-1.0 versions will work for 1.0, but that's how it functions for a lot of other software (Cubase for example). Maybe if you own a future version of Kontakt and you've got it registered in their system, NI would be nice enough to provide you with the updater if you email them. The last updates they have are for 2.0 on their FTP.

Dawn. It says there was even a 1.5.3 Mac OS9 version...
I think we are lucky to have 1.2 version...

Thank You for the info :)

The 1.3 version is an independent purchase not an update (as may be 1.5 version also) and the registration system now is similar to NI Kompakt/Absynth2 (and is different from older versions)

Even in the impossible scenario in which I could achieve to convince to NI that I prefer an older version of his app, they don't want and/or can't provide me the older version for sure.

I understand your happiness. What it differ from previous 1.2 and Kompakt (Apart of been newer)?
I would be happy if it could manage the 2 gigs of my MDD...Just dreaming awake.

Great! Before installation; delete older versions manually. I didn't and it crashed.
After a fresh reinstall all works great. And yes....we can import .nki! Let the libraries come... ;D
-
The original CD is big, but the new update is very small if it can run on its own. I guess that extra 600mb on the install CD are samples.

No, it isn't.This extra space It is occupied by a huge copy protection file.

Do you know of any (freeware) compatible liberaries with 1.53. All the libraries I can find need v3 as a minimum.
The original library is also wanted. ;)

Some of them are in the FTP, in a folder named "Temporary sharing folder #1"

Thanks. Going to give it a try.

I've installed Kontakt 1.5.3. It seems working correctly, but it "alerts" me of a "30 day expiration" if I don't authorize it with a tool that I can't find anywhere here.
any hint ?
thanks in advance
-
The download post was updated with a PC KeyGen. You should use the "Registration Tool" inside Kontak 1.5 folder with the Data provided with the PC KeyGen.

great to get these details fixed 8)

ok I'll give a try and let you know !
thanks a lot

Hi all,
I am new to this fantastic forum and I would like to support it somehow.
Mmh, is it right, that the people here are still looking for some Kontakt OS9 Libraries? I have found a Kontakt Piano Library-CD here. Does anyone need it?

Some Piano users told us that ikMultimedia Sampletank HQ pianohttp://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=876.0 (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=876.0) HQ piano was cold. It worth comparing them!
It will be great to have that Kontakt piano library!
Thanks!

???
I understand that he has a Piano CD for kontakt. When Paule says here
, I understand in his home, his studio, his vault. Not "Here" in MacOS9Lives!

Yes, you may be right. But the fact is that there is a dozen+ pianos for Kontatk, If he is refering to *the piano* CD that comes with the Kontakt library, there is no need to upload it, because this is here already since a year, alongside with Kontakt Synths CD.
What we need are the remainings Kontakt library CDs.

Sorry I didn't realize there were that folder.

Any library for OS9 is a bonus. Better to have twice the same thing and realize they are the same than loosing some rare pianos just because there are pianos.
Yamaha pianos sound VS Kawai VS Steinway VS Bossen... Grand VS Vertical VS HonkyTonk VS Rhodes...Love them all!

Only Kawai for me.
Yamaha => too bright.
Steinway => nose sound.
Bosendorfer => too dark.
Fazioli => dark and nose sound.

I tried installing the kontakt 1.53 http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,871.0.html
It works fine standalone, but when I start cubase, it asks for the CD. ¿Maybe I have to install previous versions to 1.53, and make the updates, rather than installing directly the 1.53 version?
