Title: 1.4GHz Newer Technology CPU upgrade on sawtooth g4. Can it run os9?

im trying to run os9 on my Sawtooth g4 with a newer technology 1.4 GHz cpu upgrade. I boot into the disk and its only a grey screen. any help would be great thank you.

You need to have the Apple Boot ROM 4.2.8, which you probably do.

You also must install a firmware update that came on a CD-ROM with the proc.

The preceding have to be done before changing the proc.

If you haven't, you really should read the instructions. You must follow them exactly to be successful.
