Seeing that we get all the "will this SSD work?" and "what printer do you use?" questions all the time me thinks a complete 2020 OS9 hardware guide would be a splendid idea. It could cover what SSDs to buy, what compatible printers, what Wi-Fi stick, what external speakers for your Mac Mini etc.
Would be very cool content for the OS9 lives main page. Add in some affiliate links to the products it might even net a few dollars for the work and help with hosting costs.
It would be a base for sending "newbies" to and quickly looking up things. And the content is mostly already here on the forums, just buried in various threads.
Is that something that would interest you?

i always had that in mind, too, but i am afraid there are too many variables to easily list a compatibility chart for hardware.
it would be great if it had a tree structure like the system profiler, starting with a more complete-than-on-everymac description of the barebone apple machine.

Everything with a G4 but PB> GHz and eMac/iMacs>Ghz
Most printers need the trick some days ago were mentioned.
No modern wifi dongles compatible, but there are ethernet extenders that use wifi and are feed via USB that are transparent to the system.
There were some USB cheap generic soundcards that MacTron mentioned as the easiest way to make a Mac Mini a working MacOS 9 DAW
Good idea the affiliate links, lets wait for Captain DieHard to pronounce.

we have started working on it but it is all vague and half baked.

best option is something like this, but from 2001 or older. then you have ASIO, 24 bits, and everything, eventually midi in addition, it´ll be like buying a new one for some USD150
