Title: USB Overdrive Misbehaving
Post by: Europa on March 18, 2020, 08:52:13 AM
So I have been trying to use USB Overdrive on my iBook with my Logitech Unifying Receiver (it's a Logitech M570 trackball), and whenever I move the trackball it will make the mouse jump to the right edge of the screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I recall something about this or similar from long ago. It was the Overdrive settings getting multiplied by the MacOS Mouse settings or… ?

The fix was go to the Mac mouse Control Panel and set everything to minimum (I think).

I am NOT swearing that is exactly the correct answer but it's in the ballpark. If you play with all of the settings you'll hit the cure.

feel free to deinstall the mouse control panel in case it comes back

Is it not necessary if you have USB Overdrive?

No. The Overdrive panel is interfacing with the trackball.
I wouldn't delete the Mac panel though, just disable it in Extensions Manager.
You'll need it to be there if your trackball fails or something and you need to reconnect a mouse.
