Title: sata dvd on a g4? possible? lets find out?

im just wondering if i was to connect a new sata dvd reader/writer to say, one of my sata pci cards, would it recognize + work properly do you think?
i was thinking a moment ago that it might cause problems but i feel inclined now to test this theory;)

Wow... that is uncharted... I never tried tried that... not sure if the makers of the card wrote anything into the firmware that would translate into OS 9 seeing any Optical drives... is there a dvd with OS 9 drivers included with the card ?
