Are these permissible here?
I believe one can use these with Pro Tools 7 or 8 on a Power Mac G4, but only with OS X, obviously. I guess technically one could run PT 5 (HD Accel was released in 2003, before PT 6), but I'm not sure drivers for these cards exist for OS 9.
I presently have them listed on eBay for $350 OBO. Would anybody here be interested?

350$ is a bit steep (Based on the fact ive seen them go individually for less than 100$)
unless thats for both + complete kit + accessories?

In addition to the three cards, this bundle includes the flex cables and a PT HD 8 and 9 bundle license on an iLok 2, so I think it's a somewhat reasonable price. Nevertheless, I did lower the price by $50, incase I overestimated the market.
I was thinking of including a computer preconfigured with everything ready to go, but I wanted to try selling the bare cards + the iLok first.
Also, do these things work on OS 9? I'm actually curious now!

i think so yes they do work on os9, provided you have the right software version
there is only one version that makes the hardware compatible i believe! im not sure its posted publically as of yet tho
-
Yes, I found out the version: Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1.
And it is not available publicly; one needs a valid authorization number (serial number, I guess?) in order to download, which stinks.
Once I sell this set of HD cards, I have another set that, once I "crossgrade" to the PCIe versions (so I can use them in my Mac Pro), I can throw into one of my OS 9 bootable G4s. All I'd need is that version of Pro Tools so I can use them.
Does anyone have a copy they'd be willing to sell me? :)

I have it imaged. I thought it was avaliable here, but I guess not. Will upload it somewhere :)
EDIT: Can now be found here: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/pro-tools-tdm-531
Havent tested it more than mounting the image in Mac OS 9.2.2 on my MDD and started the installer to take the screenshot.

Excellent, thanks!
Do I need a serial number to make it work? If so, is one included with the download?

Thought we had that one here... ?
http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,855.0.html
But it says "Version5.1.3" Did I make a typo on the download or is 5.1.3 Correct, Think the download folder also has the Patch Upgrade included ?

dyslexia?
5.3.1 is different than 5.1.3
(513) one is the version for using TDM hardware with os8.6
(531) the other is the version for using PTHD with os9
-
Yeah I thought 5.3.1 was on the site too... The numbers can certainly get confusing!! ;D
