Title: Would 1Gb RAM module work where a 512 Mb is required

Hi guys,

My iBook G3 comes with a RAM slot for 512 Mb of RAM. The Type of RAM is 512MB PC100 CL2 2-2-2 LowProfile 1.25 inch (non-stacked)2-2-2 144 pin So-DIMM. It happens that I have at hand a 1Gb module of the same kind.

Question 1 : would it work ?  (Of course, I'm not expecting that 1Gb to be available, just the required 512Mb.)
Question 2 : is it safe to try ?
