Hi all, so I'm trying to load up my MDD with the lovely disk image created by Die Hard, the ready for action DAW disk image from here:
http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,2716.0.html
BUT... I must be thick as I cannot find the Mac OS 9 Disk Utility. I've done a sherlock search just in the OS 9 folder, then in a 9.2.2 retail disk to no avail. I am a bit stumped. I've got 3 HDDs in my mac, 1 for OS 9, one for OS X Tiger and one just for data. I downloaded all the files to the data drive and I'm now trying to do this step:
"Use the ASR Utility to restore the images"
In the downloaded files is one called "Apple Software Restore.sit.bin"
I assumed I would be able to open that .bin file to get the stuffit file, then unstuff that and install it but not so...
Any help greatly appreciated!!
Cheers, Steve.

there is no disk utility for os9!
u can do this using the "drive setup" utility
(http://lowendmac.com/wp-content/uploads/drivesetup.png)
the drivesetup program allows u to partition a disk into multiple partitions same as disk utility.. in fact, drivesetup is probably the grandfather of disk utility.. undoubtedly!

Thanks buddy! Got there in the end but I had to jump through a few hoops! I'm now restoring the disk image to a new partition getting ready to boot up into it!

OMG... I just fixed the instructions... :(

enjoy.. it was a major effort to make the instant DAW a possibility, by a number of different people.. so, it makes us satisfied to see more people putting it to good use!
there was quite a few hoops jumped through beforehand aswell ;)

Thanks fellers!!
Just booted into it for the first time, looks class!!!!
Finally after 3 months of messing about I'm almost ready to actually get stuck into some music!
