i bought a ssd disc for my g3 400mhz powerbook pismo (with OS 9.2.2):
http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-418
i actually have two identical pismos and tried the disc on both with same result
startup is much faster than the original whatever ata disc
all programs works fine (e.g. Peak, Spark, Max/Msp...)
EXCEPT my two main music-programs: PT free and Cubase 4.1!! :'(
ive been using these for 15 years now
and been re-installing them many times..
Cubase, does not play or record any sound (16/24bit)
despite different settings in Audio setup
(i also tried Cubase 5/32 - same result)
ProTools, plays a short time but recording and using more than
two plugins stops audio
this can temporary be "resetted" by choosing the cpu-limit percentage
in the Hardware menu, which makes me wonder if the new disc
puts too much strain on the processor...??
anyway, if anyone as ideas about this ill be grateful

It seems like if that drive doesn't work fine for your Pismos!
I had bought a SATA 2.5 7200 rpm drive for my HackBook and it works a lot better than original 5400 rpm one. But on windows it overheats!
DieHard tested the OWC ATA SSD one with out of this world results!
I would try performance with a FireWire drive as session drive. Even with a firewire soundcard.
